Heat,  Flame& Arc Flash Clothing:

Our more permanent clothing are our  heat ,flame and electrical arc flash clothing. We offer a complete line of Aluminized Clothing and  arc flash clothing.

Aluminized Protective Clothing Introduction:

We make Aluminized Protective Clothing and equipment to protect you from the dangers of high heat in the work environment.   Our suits are custom made.  Aluminized  clothing  will reflect radiant heat and act as an insulator.

Application: Aluminized  Protective Clothing should be worn whenever workers are in an high radiant heat environment.. Some  example includes: refineries, petrochemical plants, steel and aluminum industries, foundries , casting plants, glass and ceramic.

We offer 5 basic types of aluminized Protective suits:

We offer two approach suits;

  1. Approach Suits: 1 is a un- insulated suit which is designed for approach within a  few  yards of a flame and radiant heat up to 2000º F
  2. Approach Suits: 2 Allows one to be in close to a fire . It protects the user from ambient temperature of 200º F and 93º C or radiant heat to 2000º F . These suits are made with vapor barrier lining of flame retardant neoprene coated FR poly cotton.
  3. Proximity Suits:  Like the approach suits it is design for closeness but not for entry into a fire. These suits are commonly used for maintenance tasks and repair tasks in high heat areas. Our proximity suits are insulated with aluminized Zetex fabric outer shell and double vapor barrier. These suits should be used when one could be subjected to steam and volatile material.
  4. Fire Entry Suit: allows you to go directly into a flame or a furnace for a short  period of time, The fire entry suits are the ultimate in fire insulated suits, They are constructed of zetex plus  high temperature fabric for maximum protection in total flame entry. It allows short periods of exposure to ambient temperature of 1500º degrees F.(815º C) and prolong exposure of radiant heat of 2000 º.(1050º C)
  5. Kiln Suit: These suits are suitable for short duration  in ambient heat up to 1000º s F (530º C) These suits are commonly used  for maintenance  task in high areas such as kiln and oven maintenance and repair. These suits are highly insulated  with aluminized zetex fabric outer shell and internal vapor barrier.

Breathing apparatus is required for the kiln and entry suits and optional for the proximity suit.

To help in your selection for the proper heat protection clothing ,we will make an attempt to explain the difference in heat.

Ambient Heat: is the surrounding  atmospheric  temperature within an environment. Example: 90º F in your office or a 2000º F  in a fire walk.

Conductive Heat: Is generated by direct contact with a hot surface, Example: picking up a hot plate.

Radiant Heat: is generated by the sun, a source of fire, such as a fireplace or a furnace and is absorbed by masses of material struck by the heat’s rays. An example of why it’s cooler in the shade on a hot day.

We bring to the marketplace Primary and Secondary Protective Clothing.

Primary Protective Clothing:  You will need your primary clothing for work activities  during which significant exposure to molten substance splash, radiant heat and flame is likely to occur.

Such work activities include charging, taping and pouring during which work is carried out in close proximity to molten substances and hot surfaces and contact with either is likely.

Secondary Protective Clothing: Your secondary clothing is designed for continuous  wear for work activities in locations where intermittent exposure to molten substance splash, radiant heat and flame source is possible.

Secondary Protective Clothing:  is such that it will not continue to burn after exposure to and the removal of the source of ignition. Protection against metal splash and radiant heat are secondary in intent.

Protect yourself from Electrical Arc Flash

What is an electrical arc flash?

The National Fire Protection Association defined Electrical Arc Flash as a dangerous condition associated with the release of energy caused by an electric arc. This condition occurs when electrical insulation or isolation between conductors  breakdown and cannot withstand the applied voltage. The electrical energy supplied to the arc is converted to other forms of energy which create dangerous conditions as stated earlier. To protect against the dangers of arc flash, clothing and other apparatus has been developed to be worn or used to protect against personal injury due to arc flash hazard.  Arc Flash Clothing will protect the users against the dangers of Electric Arc. Our electric arc clothing is in full compliance with NAPA 70E 2004 edition and ASTM F 1506.   All of the Electric Arc Protection Clothing distributed by ASI are built and advertised with an Arc Thermal Performance Value (ATPV); this value is presented in calories per centimeter square and represents the maximum capability possible from an arc flash protection for particular clothing. Our protection starts at 4cal/cm2.  The materials commonly used in the manufacturing of our Electrical Arc Flash Clothing are several fire retardant or fire resistant (FR) materials. Our commonly used materials are Indura Ultra Soft, ®, Nomex®, and Carbon-X®,   We offer different weight arc flash clothing  to satisfy the wearer from Alaska in winter to Arizona in summer.    Company Profile: We are a distributor of Electrical Arc Protection Apparel and accessories that offer protection from head to toe, which are the following:   Head and Face Arc Protection: We offer Hard Hats, Electric Arc Face Shield, Electric Arc Goggles, Arc Hoods and Safety Glasses.   Body Arc Protection: We offer electric arc shirts in Indura ultra Soft and Nomex material, hooded and crewneck sweatshirt in Indura Ultra Soft Fleece, pants, over-pants and undergarmentElectric arc coverall, coats, jackets, Bib-overall, Switcher-puller clothing, Insulated Gloves, protector gloves and glove kits.
