Aluminized Protective Clothing

What is aluminized Clothing?

Aluminized clothing is heat and flame protective clothing. It is made from highly heat resistant fabrics with layers of laminated aluminum film. The resulting product ,aluminized clothing is a great heat reflector and offers multiple industrial and commercial functions such as industrial heat shielding, protect workers from molten splash, ambient and radiant heat.

Aluminized clothing has the ability to reflect 95% radiant heat and reduce the flow of ambient heat by 50% when compared with non-aluminized fabric.

It is important to fully understand the heat condition that one is trying to protect against in making a selection for the proper clothing... We are providing the following definitions on different heat sources as a reference as well as vital assistance in selecting the proper clothing...

Ambient Heat: The surrounding atmospheric temperature in a given situation. An example of ambient heat is room temperature.

Conductive Heat: Generated by direct contact with a hot surface.  Examples: touching a hot plate, leaning against a furnace wall at 100° F

Radiant Heat: Given off   by an heat source. Example : A hot stove.

We have designed and manufactured what is considered to be  Primary and a Secondary Protection levels for our aluminized clothing.

Primary Clothing: designed to be worn for work activities during which significant exposure to molten substance splash, radiant heat, and flame is likely to occur. Such work activities include charging, taping and pouring, during which work is carried out in close proximity to molten substances and hot surfaces and contact with either is likely.

Secondary Clothing: designed for continuous wear for work activities in designated locations where intermittent exposure to molten substance splash, radiant heat and flame sources is possible.  Secondary protective clothing is designed so that it will not continue to burn after exposure and the removal of the ignition source... Protection against metal splash and radiant heat are secondary in intent.

Where do we find application for aluminized clothing?

Industries where protection from high heat sources such as steam and hot liquids or vapors is required. Examples are refineries, petrochemical plants, foundries and casting plants, basic steel and aluminum industries, glass and ceramic plants and laboratories

For your levels of protection using aluminized clothing we offer  suits, jacket, coats of different length and styles such as open back, and combo coats, pants, coverall , hoods and accessories.
